Infiniti VQ35DE specs: 3.5L (213.6 ci) 6-cylinder, 95.5 x 81.4 mm (3.7598 x 3.2047 in) bore and stroke. Rated 260-298 hp, 2003–2007.

The Infiniti VQ35DE is oversquare — the 3.7598" bore exceeds the 3.2047" stroke by 17.3% — a layout that favors airflow and RPM over leverage at the crank. The 3.2047" stroke does not reach 4,000 ft/min of mean piston speed until about 7,500 RPM, so piston speed is not what limits this engine's revs — valvetrain and breathing are. Each of the 6 cylinders displaces 35.6 ci (583 cc).

It is one of 18 engines in the VQ family, sitting between the 121.9 ci and 243.9 ci members. 10 factory variants share these dimensions, rated from 260 to 298 hp across 2003–2007.

What these numbers mean

Bore/stroke character	1.173 — oversquare — bore exceeds stroke, which favours higher RPM and larger valves
Mean piston speed at 6,000 RPM	3,205 ft/min — conservative for a street engine
Displacement per cylinder	35.6 ci
