Hyundai Sonata Engines by Year

This page covers the Sonata from its 2006 redesign on. The Theta II 2.4 and 2.0 turbo of the 2011–2019 cars were the subject of large recalls and engine replacements. Later Sonatas use the 2.5, the 1.6 turbo and, in the N Line, a 2.5 turbo. The Kia Optima and K5 have their own page.
