Plymouth Satellite Engines by Year
The Satellite was Plymouth's mid-size car from 1965 to 1974: the top of the Belvedere line until 1970, and from 1971 the name for the whole intermediate range. The Road Runner and GTX were related models and have their own pages.

1965–1967
The early Satellite was V8-only, from the 273 to the 383, with the 426 Street Wedge in 1965 and the 426 Street Hemi offered from 1966.

1968–1970
The 1968 redesign added the 225 slant six to the Satellite; the 383 was the top engine outside the Road Runner and GTX.

1971–1974
From 1971 the Satellite name covered sedans, wagons and the Sebring coupe. Ratings are SAE net from 1972, and the 400 replaced the 383.
