Ford Bronco Engines by Year

Ford built the Bronco from 1966 to 1996, first as a compact 4x4 and from 1978 on the F-series chassis, and brought the name back for 2021. The smaller Bronco II and today's Bronco Sport are separate models.

1966–1977

The early Bronco used the 170 and 200 sixes and the 289, then 302, V8. The 302 was the only engine from 1975.
