Chevrolet Caprice Engines by Year

The Caprice began as a 1965 luxury package on the Impala Sport Sedan and became Chevrolet's top full-size car through 1996; the 1994–1996 Impala SS has its own page. The name returned from 2011 to 2017 on a police-only sedan. Police engines are marked; California-only engines are noted.
